12 people lose home in Sunday morning fire

RICHMOND, Va. -- The Red Cross was called to help 12 people who lost their home in a Sunday morning fire in South Richmond. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.

Richmond Fire crews responded to an emergency call at the home around 2 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Blandy Avenue, Janke Road near Elizabeth Redd Elementary School.

Firefighters found the home fully involved when they arrived.

Neighbors said 12 people lived inside the home and everyone escaped the fire unharmed.
