CHESTERFIELD, Va. -- A missing person mystery is getting stranger by the day for the family of a Chesterfield man who left for Elizabeth, New Jersey on Memorial Day weekend.
Jamar Reid also known as “Red,” has been missing since May 30 during a weekend trip to New Jersey with 10 of his friends.
All ten of his friends returned home, but Reid did not, according to his family.
Elizabeth, New Jersey police said Reid is classified as missing and that he was last seen outside the Airport Lodge on Spring Street in Elizabeth on May 30.
A family member told CBS 6 reporter Jon Burkett that Reid has no ties to New Jersey and was born and raised in the Richmond area.
Reid’s family said they are worried because he hasn’t contacted them nor posted on Facebook since he went missing.
They said this is out of character and they are pleading for him to come home.
Elizabeth, New Jersey police said they are actively working this case and ask anyone with information to call 908-558-2000.
