SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. — A Virginia man was arrested charged with shooting his girlfriend during an argument Sunday night in Spotsylvania County. The woman, shot in the arm, was treated for a gunshot wound and later released from the hospital.
After his arrest, 52-year-old Clyde Cross, of Spotsylvania, was booked at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
A 911 call brought police to Cross’ Mansfield Street at about 8:40 p.m. Sunday.
“Upon arrival, the female victim related to Deputies that her boyfriend [Cross], had shot her, after an argument in his home, where she had been staying for a few days,” Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Jeff Pearce said. “The victim further related that after being wounded, she ran to a neighbor’s home and called 911.”
Cross was arrested without incident.
