Henrico Police searched for ‘suspicious man’ near bus stop

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Police are continuing to patrol the neighborhood around Carver Elementary School in Henrico’s West End for a suspicious male. The man, who was reported to be driving a pick-up truck “verbally engaged” a young male child at the school bus stop Thursday afternoon.

“Officers responded to the area of Old Compton and Lauderdale Drive for a report of a suspicious white male, wearing a light green shirt, with a beard driving a white 4-door pickup truck,” a Henrico Police spokesman said. “It is believed the suspect verbally engaged a juvenile male from his truck at the bus stop.”

Officers who checked the area did not find the man, nor the truck.

Police planned to continue patrols around schools and bus stops.
