Richmond Greek Festival & Relay For Life

The 41st Annual Richmond Greek Festival at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Malvern Avenue, continues Friday & Saturday, 11am – 10pm and Sunday, noon - 7pm. Get your fill of your favorite foods and take some home. Sanctuary tours are scheduled during the festival hours at designated times through Sunday. Guides will offer lectures of the history of Orthodoxy which traces its origin to the day of Pentecost. Relax and enjoy children and adults perform the traditional dances of Greece. Each dance and costume is as distinct as the island or province from which it originated. Our men, women and children showcase one more aspect of the rich Greek Heritage. The 3rd annual Deb Angstadt Wiffle Ball Tournament Friday and all day Saturday. The Tournament was created in 2014 to honor David Angstadt's mother who passed away after a long fight with liver and colon cancer. an official Stand Up to Cancer event, and all proceeds and donations go toward Stand Up to Cancer. 7th annual Relay For Life of Chesterfield - sixth and seventh grade students in the Center Based Gifted (CBG) program at Robious Middle School will participate in Relay for Life of Chesterfield on Saturday & Sunday. Students will continuously walk the quarter-mile track at James River High School for fourteen hours to raise funds in the fight against cancer. The Crusading Venturers team is more than halfway towards its goal of raising $35,000 for the American Cancer Society. Opening Ceremony kicks off the event at 4pm Saturday. A candlelight Luminaria Ceremony is scheduled for 9pm to honor people who lost their battle again cancer, currently have cancer or fought cancer in the past.
