Man robs Midlothian Turnpike convenience store at gunpoint

RICHMOND, Va -- An investigation is underway after an armed robber at a Midlothian Turnpike convenience store Monday night.

The robbery happened at the Z Express convenience store in the 5100 block of Midlothian Turnpike at around 10:45 Monday night. Police said the man walked into the store, pulled out a handgun, and demanded money. The clerk complied and the man ran off with the cash.

No one was hurt. It's not known how much money the man fled with.

Police described the man as a black male in his 30s, but there were no other details immediately available.
