RICHMOND, Va. — Although cloud cover may limit or prevent viewing in our area, an interesting astronomical event will take place Sunday morning.
Mars will be in “opposition”. The planet’s location will be directly opposite of the sun’s. This will occur at 7:17 a.m. EDT.
The location of Mars in its orbit path will be closest to the Earth on May 30 at 5:34 p.m. This will mark its closest proximity in eleven years.
