Wednesday at around 9:51 a.m., police responded to the CVS at 6807 Forest Hill Avenue for a robbery call. Witnesses reported two suspects, one armed with a handgun, who demanded and took prescription narcotics from the store and fled the store through the back of the building, got into a car, and drove off.

When Richmond Police later spotted that car on Hull Street Road and East Belt Boulevard, officers gave chase. The chase did not last long as the suspect’s car crashed into the tree a short time later.

Both suspects were taken into custody. One of the suspects suffered a minor injury.

The crash happened at about 9:20 a.m.
