Thousands without power after storms roll through Central Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. – Thousands of customers are without power after storms rolled through Central Virginia Thursday night.

Dominion Virginia Power reported that more than 5,700 customers were in the dark as of 11 p.m.

That number includes more than 3,500 customers in Chesterfield County and just over 1,000 in Henrico County. Additionally, 640 customers in Dinwiddie and 445 customers in Richmond are without electricity.

There has been no word yet on when the power will be restored.
