Mechanicsville teen, Sandston man arrested for Henrico home invasion

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Two people were arrested in connection with an April 18 home invasion in Henrico.

Jacqulynne Lisa Howard, 18, of Mechanicsville, and Richard Tanner Putney, 22, of Sandston were arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of burglary, one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and one count of possession of firearm by felon.

“The victim reported the four individuals forced their way into the residence and demanded money,” a Henrico Police spokesperson said. “One of the suspects removed currency from a victim’s wallet and all four fled.”

The victim described the robbers as two black males, one white male and one white female.

The crime happened at a home along the 7000 block of Messer Road, near Varina High School, at 10:30 p.m.

No serious injuries were reported in the robbery.

Police have not yet said what led them to Howard and Putney.
