Arrest made in Chesterfield neighborhood shooting

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- One person has been arrested in connection to an afternoon shooting on Meadowburm Drive in Chesterfield.

Rea-kwon R. Adams, 20, of Evergreen Avenue in Richmond, was arrested Wednesday and charged with malicious wounding in relation to the shooting, according to a Chesterfield Police spokesperson.

Police were called to the Meadowburm Drive, off Meadowdale Boulevard, Wednesday afternoon at about 12:15 p.m. for the report of a shooting.

"One victim, a 19-year-old male, was located at the scene. He was transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries," a Chesterfield Police spokesperson said. "At this point, the investigation indicates that this incident was not random."
