Police nab man wanted for Henrico murder

HENRICO, Va. – Henrico Police have made an arrest in aMarch murder; the motive was robbery.

Just after midnight on Thursday, March 10, Henrico Police were flagged down near the intersection of Alma Avenue and E. Laburnum Avenue, less than a mile from Richmond International Raceway.

A citizen informed officers that a male had been shot in the area of Alma Avenue. Officers located 23-year-old Jahshim Nahshon Turnbull, of Virginia Beach, on Conway Street near Cliff Avenue. He was dead on the scene.

Just a day after Turnbull’s murder, police released surveillance images of a man last seen with him.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Anton Lateef Edwards, age 25, of Bowling Green as the Turnbull murder suspect.

Edwards was charged with first-degree murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.

Police continue to investigate this crime. Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call Henrico Police at 804-501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
