55-year-old man killed in Petersburg hit-and-run

PETERSBURG, Va. — Police are seeking the public’s help after a 55-year-old man was struck and killed Thursday night in Petersburg.

Officials said officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Youngs Road near the intersection of S. Halcum Drive and Dinwiddie Court just after 10 p.m. for a person down.

Police discovered Ross Epps Jr., who officials believe was struck by a vehicle. He died at the scene.

Officials said they have few clues about what happened but believe the suspect’s vehicle is likely damaged.

The crash team is actively investigating the incident.
