COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. -- Police are looking for two men in a red pickup truck they said approached a two students near an elementary school in Colonial Heights Monday afternoon.
“At first we didn't know what was happening because he was just sitting there,” the teen told WTVR CBS 6 reporter Jasmine Norwood.
A 14-year-old girl and her friend were walking down Conduit Road near Tussing Elementary in Colonial Heights around 2:15 p.m. when she said they were nearly abducted.
“We were right beside those woods and we were just going down the road to get back to my house,” she said. “I turned back around and I was just like, 'Oh gosh.' And he started to come towards us.”
The girl said she was near an access road when two Hispanic men pulled up in a rusty, red pickup truck. That is when she said the passenger leaned most of his upper body out of the car as if he were going to grab her.
“He was saying there was something wrong with his car and we both needed to get in and help him like quick,” she said.
She said that was when she realized something was not right.
“My friend she had started running before me and she was like, ‘He's trying to get us in the car!’” she said. “And I was just like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I stared at him for a split second and that's when I took off.”
