RICHMOND, Va. -- The VCU Rams were given a 10 seed and in the West region and will play Oregon State Friday in Oklahoma City in the 2016 NCAA tournament. The Rams, who earlier Sunday lost in the A-10 finals to St. Joe's, have played in a school-record six straight NCAA tournaments.
The game will tip at 1 p.m. on TNT.
The 2016 tournament marks the five-year anniversary of the Rams unlikely run to the Final Four under then head coach Shaka Smart. Smart left VCU for the University of Texas after last season.
Will Wade, an assistant coach with the Final Four team, is in his first year as VCU's head coach.
Should the Rams and Texas Longhorns win their first two games, the Rams would face Smart's Longhorns in the Sweet 16.
