RICHMOND, Va. -- An exceptional education teacher at Huguenot High School was arrested and charged with two counts of Taking Indecent Liberties while in a Supervisory Role, both felonies. Courtney Stewart, 24, of Richmond, was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old Huguenot student, according to police sources. It was unclear whether the student was in one of Stewart's classes.
Stewart was arrested Thursday night and booked at the Richmond jail. She was arraigned Friday morning. Detectives are investigating whether there may be additional victims, a Richmond Police spokesperson said. A Richmond Schools' spokesperson was unable to provide an initial comment when asked about the arrest Friday morning.
