HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — Authorities in Hanover County are searching for a man who robbed a bank in the Hanover Village shopping center Friday afternoon.
It happened at the Citizens and Farmers Bank in the 7000 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike just after 1:15 p.m.
Sgt. James R. Cooper, public information officer for the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, said the suspect walked up to a teller, pulled out a note saying he was armed and demanded money.
Cooper said the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last spotted fleeing in a silver Mercedes headed eastbound on Mechanicsville Turnpike.
The suspect, who is described as a black male, was last seen wearing a tan colored hat, black t-shirt with white sleeves underneath, dark-colored cargo shorts and black and white tennis shoes.
