Man robs Shockoe Bottom gas station using yellow plastic bag

RICHMOND, Va. -- A man used a yellow plastic bag to rob a Shockoe Bottom gas station early Tuesday morning.

When the man walked into the Exxon along the 1700 block of East Broad Street at around 2 a.m., he told the cashier he had a gun inside a yellow shopping bag, police said.

The cashier then handed over the money to the robber. The suspect was last seen running west down Broad Street.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 30-40 years of age and approximately 6’3” tall. He wore a black t-shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers and a grey cap.
