Suspect arrested in South Laburnum Avenue armed robbery

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Police arrested a man after he robbed a woman at gunpoint Friday afternoon.

24-year-old Dayquan Kevon Pittman was arrested and charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Officers responded to the 4500 block of South Laburnum Avenue a little before 3:30 p.m. for a report of a robbery after a woman told police that Pittman robbed her of her purse and its contents at gunpoint. They located the suspect vehicle a short time later and attempted to Pittman over on the 5100 block of Williamsburg Road.

He then fled on foot before being apprehended a short while later.

The woman was not injured in the robbery.
