HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — A Virginia sex offender was charged with being on school property after he was sent to the Collegiate School in Henrico for work. Timmy Allen Bailey, 47, was sent to Collegiate Thursday by his employer to clean grease traps in the kitchen, police said.
“It was determined that Bailey, a registered sex offender, attempted to enter the [physical plant office] building but was detected by security when he presented his identification,” a Henrico Police spokesman said.
Bailey never tried to interact with children, a Collegiate spokesperson said. School officials were glad their security protocols, which include workers checking-in before starting on a job, worked. The school spokesperson added Collegiate takes security very seriously.
Bailey was convicted in 2005 of taking indecent liberties with a child, according to the Virginia Sex Offender database.
