Man shot in January 27, Brookland Park shooting has died

RICHMOND, Va. — The shooting victim of a January 27, Brookland Park neighborhood shooting has died, according to police.

Ericelle C. Coleman, 27, of Richmond, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital Monday night.

Police said the suspect in this case is still on the loose, and the incident is now being investigated as a homicide.

Investigators said at approximately 10:12 p.m. on January 27, officers responded to a call for random gunfire in the 3100 block of Richmond-Henrico Turnpike. When they arrived, officers located Coleman, with a gun-shot wound.

Detectives are working all available leads in this case and continue to gather additional information as part of the ongoing investigation.
