PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. -- A group of neighbors in Prince George said they haven’t had clean water and have been under a boil water order for days. Some who live at the Bexley Mobile Home Park said they haven't had water at all.

"In the past five days, I haven't been able to take a shower due to the water pressure," one woman said.

A series of problems has led to the water frustration. Bexley gets water from four wells. One of the well's pump went out last week. A few days later a second pump went out.

When the pump malfunctioned it created low water pressure and that resulted in a boil water notification. When pressure was fully restored, CBS 6 was told the residents drained the water supply, resulting in all four pumps having to be shut down.

Boil tap waterThe Virginia Department of Health told CBS 6 Monday morning they were notified by the mobile home park owners on Friday a boil water notification was issued.

Monday afternoon, the Virginia Department of Health confirmed a health inspector was heading to Bexley to look over the situation. The four wells supply water to nearly 100 mobile homes. Those residents now rely on bottled water for drinking and cooking.

Brandy Worley spent the morning buying cases of bottled water for her mom, who is recovering from a recent surgery.

"She just had surgery so she has to clean several times a day," said Worley.

Some living in the park said a recent change in ownership has seen improvements being made, but the water issue has been frustrating.
