BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A trooper in Indiana who pulled over a man for speeding prayed with the manwhen he found out the reason he was driving so fast. According to WRTV, Rodney Gibson was trying to come to terms with the fact that his daughter’s breast cancer was not going away; he was so upset he didn’t realize he was speeding.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Todd Durnil said when he learned of Gibson’s story, he decided not to give him a ticket.

“I also thought, this man already has enough; I’m not going to write him any paperwork for a ticket or even a warning,” Trooper Durnil told ABC News.

When Gibson asked Durnil if he knew how to pray, the trooper took off his hat, knelt down, took Gibson’s hand and said a prayer.

Durnil told ABC News both men had tears in their eyes.

“The good Lord put us together for a purpose,” the trooper said.
