HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- The woman arrested after two children and six adults were hurt in a crash at a GRTC bus stop was arraigned in court Monday. Iman Robinson was charged with reckless driving and driving on a suspended license following the December 28 crash. She is due back in court January 20.

Robinson, who was driving an Infinity sedan, slammed into an SUV that was then pushed into the bus stop at Laburnum Avenue near Alma Avenue, police said. Several adults and children waiting for the bus were injured.

"At the time of the accident, there were five adults and three children waiting for the GRTC bus to arrive. Four of the adults were transported to VCU Medical Center with minor injuries. One child was transported to VCU Medical Center with minor injuries and the other with life threatening injuries," Henrico Police Lt. Chris Eley said. "Neither alcohol nor speed were factors to this crash."

Following the crash, some neighbors spoke out to say a stop light was needed at the intersection. The Henrico Department of Public Works director said any action would first require a signal warrant analysis in which they would examine the crash stats and investigate the type of accidents.

"At this time we haven't had any requests or complaints from any of our riders, Henrico County, or VDOT regarding this bus stop location," GRTC spokeswoman Carrie Rose Pace said about the likelihood of moving the bus stop. "In fact the reason why this bus stop had a shelter is because it was so used."

Rose Pace said the bus stop would continue to operate as a normal.
