Richmond teen killed in Christmas Eve shooting

RICHMOND, Va. — Police identified the person shot and killed Christmas Eve in Richmond as 18-year-old Traquan Holmes. Holmes, of Coalter Street, was found unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound when police were called to the 2000 block of North 29th Street at about 10:02 p.m. Christmas Eve.

“Detectives are actively working all available leads in this case,” a Richmond Police spokeswoman said. “They will recanvas the area to gather additional information as part of their ongoing investigation.”
