RICHMOND, Va. -- The new Star Wars movie, "The Force Awakens," certainly awakened passions among fans who thronged to opening night in Richmond.

We went Thursday evening to the absolutely slammed but orderly Bowtie Cinema on the Boulevard both before and after the first showing of the 7th Star Wars movie to capture the anticipation and then hear what they thought of the movie.

We heard that the special effects were stellar, but not all digitally created, which made the movie particularly pleasurable for older viewers who remember the original.

We were also told that the new and old characters were blended beautifully.

Check out the video. There are no spoilers in terms of plot or reviews.

Based on what we heard, what has become perhaps the greatest cinematic force in world history will live on for at least the next movie or two.
