RICHMOND, Va. -- A man is suffering from a gunshot wound in his leg after two men stole his car Sunday morning in the Town and Country apartment complex.

Police were called to the 1400 block of Barriedale Road where they say the victim was sitting in his car when the suspects approached him and shot him in the leg. The suspects then fled the scene in his car.

The victim's injury is non-life threatening and he's expected to make a full recovery.

Police describe the suspects as one white male and one black male. There is no description of the vehicle at this time, but it hasn't been located.

This daylight carjacking is the latest in the city in recent weeks. On November 18, a car was carjacked on North 35th street in Churchill. Two days earlier a carjacking occurred in Shockoe Bottom resulting in a bank robbery and an eventual police chase and shootout.

This story is developing. Police are asking that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
