CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A Chesterfield mother is facing charges after police say she left her child behind at a shopping center after running from police.
Police say the incident happened Wednesday, December 2. The child’s mother, Precious Artis, was shopping inside the Macy's at the Chesterfield Towne Center with man.
Police tell CBS 6 the pair was spotted stealing from the store and both ran from security leaving the baby behind inside a car seat. The relationship of this man with Artis is unknown at this time.
Investigators say Artis won't give up the name of the man she was with. Right now we haven't heard who has custody of the suspect's child.
