Search continues for person who shot woman in Hopewell

HOPEWELL, Va. — The search continued Thursday for the person who shot and injured a woman in Hopewell Wednesday night. Police were called to the 200 block of South 8th Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. for reports for multiple shots fired.

“Upon arrival, officers located one victim who had sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene and the victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital for further emergency medical treatment,” Hopewell Police Capt. Greg Taylor said. “Witnesses observed a white in color mid-size sedan leaving the area which may be involved in the incident.”
