The VCU Rams used a balanced attack on offense and a suffocating defense in the second half to pull away with a 76-67 win over ODU. JeQuan Lewis led three Rams in double figures with 16 points. Melvin Johnson added 13 and hit 3 three-pointers to move into 6th all time in school history in made three pointers.
The Rams shot 50% from the field for the game and limited the Monarchs to just 36% in the second half. Aaron Bacote led all scores with 21 for ODU...who fell to 3-3 on the year. VCU improved to 4-2 after their second straight win.
