Memphis head coach Fuente responds to report on Virginia Tech job

Memphis football coach Justin Fuerte responds to a Yahoo sports column linking him with the soon-to-be-vacant Virginia Tech job replacing Frank Beamer. He tells Matt Stark of Fox affiliate WHBQ in Memphis "...if there's something that comes along and there's mutual interest, then we'll have those discussions." He went on to say his focus and the team's should be their upcoming game with SMU

Injured JMU QB Vad Lee was named the CAA Offensive player of the year, while Richmond's Danny Rocco was named the CAA Coach of the Year. The Spiders and William & Mary both landed 7 players on the CAA 1st team, while JMU had 5 players honored.

Roscoe Johnson is stepping down after 9 years as head coach at Atlee. He is the school's alltime winningest coach and made the playoffs in four of the last five years.

VCU head coach Will Wade had some very pointed criticism of his team following an 0-2 effort in this past weekend's 2K Classic in New York City. "We have some guys who have been lying to themselves, and who were exposed on that stage. That's really, really disappointing."

Virginia Tech got 26 points and 12 rebounds from Zach LeDay in a 90-60 win over N.C. A&T.
