RICHMOND, Va. — Joey, 15, is a young man who is mechanically inclined and loves to take everything apart, see how it works and then attempts to put it back together again. He prefers to be outside and loves riding his bike and skateboarding.

Joey loves animals and would like to be in a home with a dog. He is very loving and sweet but takes time to warm up to people and trust them. Joey is currently living in a group home and will need a family that is willing to participate in his treatment at his facility to help with a smooth transition into the adoptive home. Joey has a strong relationship with his grandmother and older sister and desires to maintain these relationships.

In Virginia, we have over 860 children who are ready for foster to adoption. In other words, these children are ready to find their permanent and loving forever families. As Connecting Hearts -The Deborah J Johnston Foundation celebrates National Adoption Month, our “30 Kids in 30 Days” initiative is to bring awareness to 30 kids who are available for forever homes, but also to shed light on the other 830 children who may not be seen. Our kids are all ages and races, they were put in foster care due to no fault of their own.
