WASHINGTON -- When two women were charged with sexual abuse after twerking on a man at a Washington DC gas station, it made national news, and the video even went viral online.

Now, the man in the video is telling his side of the story.

Washington Tharpe, a middle school teacher said he called 911 on the two women during the incident last month.

The 40-year-old said he stopped for gas at the shell station last month. He said when he pulled out his cash to pay, the twerking began and it was just the beginning.

"It looks like I just had some girls twerking on me and I just called the police. That is not what happened at all," Tharpe told WJLA.

He said he told both women to stop and get off of him.

Tharpe said the woman in red then grabbed his private parts, but the interaction didn't stop there.

"I was going around in circles trying to maneuver myself away from them. They just kept continuing, continuing, continuing," said Tharpe.

Tharpe said there was a group of men standing nearby.

"I'm thinking they were going to set me up," he said.

After Tharpe went outside, he said the women followed him and tried to stop him from getting in his car. He said the women retreated for a moment, so he decided to drive through the car wash.

"When I turned on the carwash, the girls came inside the other way from the exit after me, and I'm thinking 'oh shoot, they're about to kill me.' That's when I called 911," Tharpe said.

Tharpe said he felt like he had to explain himself because the video only portrayed part of the story.

"I'm speaking the truth and maybe it will help someone else in the future," said Tharpe.
