DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. -- Investigators are looking for a man who attempted to abduct a 15-year-old Dinwiddie girl outside of her home. The man pulled into the driveway of the girl's Flatfoot Road home Tuesday at about 2:40 p.m., according to investigators.

"The male tried to have the female get into his vehicle, claiming that he was going to take her to her mother," a Dinwiddie County Sheriff’s spokesman said. "The victim declined the request and attempted to walk away. The male suspect then grabbed the young victim and attempted to pull her into the vehicle. The victim broke free and ran to her residence where she called law enforcement."

Investigators described the suspect as a black male wearing a hoodie. They said he was driving a flat, black in color, older model box shaped sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Caprice.

Anyone with information about this incident or vehicle was asked to call Dinwiddie County Sheriff’s office at 804-469-4550 or Petersburg/Dinwiddie Crime Solvers at 804-861-1212.
