CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – If you were driving by Chesterfield Towne Center Sunday morning, you might have spotted some extra officers at the mall.
That's because police and firefighters conducted an active threat exercise for several hours Sunday morning.
The training allowed first responders to put together a plan for responding to emergencies like a mall shooter or other threat.
The exercise lasted from 7 to 11 a.m. The mall opened for business at noon, its regularly scheduled time.
