HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – A person was rushed to the hospital after they were hit by a car on Halloween in a neighborhood near Regency Square Mall in Henrico County, authorities said.
Henrico police said the incident happened just before 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of Weldon and Starling drives.
A witness told WTVR CBS 6 that saw the male driver hit the brakes twice before she heard a loud thud.
She then heard screaming and crying. That’s when she called 911.
“Please tell drivers and parents to be careful out tonight. This was an accident that just happened on the corner of Weldon Drive and Starling by Regency Square Mall,” she wrote. “I don’t know if it was a child or parent that got hit. I hope they are ok.”
Police said the adult victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were described as not life-threatening.
The driver did stop. There has been word yet what charges, if any, he could face.
