RICHMOND, Va. — A Richmond business wanted to show their appreciation for the Fourth Precinct officers of the Richmond Police Department.
The regional manager of the Dollar General store on North Avenue in Northside credits the officers for saving his store thousands of dollars, with community policing.
“His store recorded tens of thousands of dollars in decreased shoplifting from last year to this year – and he credits Fourth Precinct officers and especially the walking patrol in the area,” wrote the RPD on social media.
To show his thanks, the store held a Police Appreciation Day last week. Officers were treated to Firehouse subs, chips and drinks.
The precinct appreciated the gesture, and in order for more officers to take advantage of the meal, Lieutenant Mills and Sergeants Burgess and Spinos held an outdoor roll call to kick-off evening shift.
