PETERSBURG, Va. -- Detectives located Janice Lugo Monday afternoon. She is safe and in contact with her family, according to Petersburg Police. No further details about the case have been released.
Over the weekend, police issued an alert for help finding Lugo, who vanished from her Petersburg home. She was last seen by her mother back in August at her home in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street. Her mother last spoke to her daughter on the phone on Sept. 25.
The 51-year-old was last seen with a man in a wheelchair named either "Ernie" or "Chris."
Lugo's family was worried because she suffers from depression and also has high blood pressure.
