CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A driver was charged with driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence of drugs after his car hit the Panda Express Chinese Kitchen on Tim Price Way, near Midlothian Turnpike and Chippenham Parkway. The Friday morning crash left a hole in the restaurant.

"Upon arrival, officers saw that a silver 2003 Buick sedan had struck the building. The investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling on Midlothian Turnpike when it lost control and struck the building," a Chesterfield Police spokeswoman said. "The driver, the vehicle’s only occupant, was transported to Chippenham Hospital with non-life threatening injuries."

Police identified the driver as Christopher A. Harvey, 36, of Richmond. This is a developing story.
