Hurricane Patricia, the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the western hemisphere, had winds topping 200 mph Friday afternoon.  It made landfall at 7:15 pm EDT near Cuixmala, Mexico,  which is about 55 miles west-northwest of Manzanillo, and southeast of Puerto Vallarta.  Winds at landfall were estimated to be around 165 mph.

Wind speeds will decrease on Saturday as the storm tracks over the terrain of central Mexico.  Heavy rainfall will continue to occur, with some areas receiving over 10-15 inches of rain.

Moisture from Patricia will get drawn up into a system near Texas, and this will cause rainfall totals by Monday to exceed ten inches in some areas.  The remnants of this moisture will be a part of a system that affects Virginia around Wednesday.
