Police bust down doors, remove TVs from Petersburg homes

PETERSBURG, Va - Police raided two homes in Petersburg Wednesday looking for stolen electronics, sources confirmed. The afternoon raids took place at a home near the intersection of Guarantee and West Washington Streets.  Neighbors saw officers take a battering ram to the front door of one of the homes.

CBS 6 reporter Jon Burkett saw multiple officers remove televisions and other electronics from one of the homes. Witnesses said at least 12 people were handcuffed by police; however, nine of those detained were later released.

Police called the operation an ongoing investigation and could not provide further details.  Police have not yet confirmed if any arrests were made. This is a developing story. Anyone with information can submit a news tip here.
