Southbound lanes reopen on I-95 in Spotsylvania County after death investigation

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police are investigating a death on Interstate 95 near the 127 mile marker in Spotsylvania County.

Sources tell CBS 6 a woman jumped from the overpass.

All southbound lanes have reopened on I-95. They were previously closed due to the ongoing investigation.

VDOT and the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office are assisting with detours for southbound I-95 traffic.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route and be prepared for delays.
