RICHMOND, Va. -- An annual Boy Scout tradition is feeding thousands across Central Virginia -- and troops from our area are taking part.

Twenty-five boys from Troop 418 in Richmond went door-to-door through the Southampton neighborhood, collecting bags of non-perishable food as part of the Scouting for Food drive. The troop collected over 100 bags of food to benefit FeedMore.

Last year, the event collected about 160,000 pounds of food. This years, organizers in the area say they're hoping to collect about 200,000 pounds of food.

If you'd like to help the troop meet that goal, drop off donations at any Richmond-area Martin's store or any Town Bank location.
