HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — Kings Dominion will be open and free to the public tomorrow, Wednesday, September 23, as part of the UCI Road World Championships. While the entire park will not be open, shops and restaurants along International Street will be operational along with rides like the Dominator, the Berserker and the Eiffel Tower.
“The Elite Men will begin by cycling out of our front gates, through the parking lot, and out onto Route 30 past Meadow Event Park before continuing through Hanover and finishing downtown in the city,” Kings Dominion spokeswoman Katelyn Curry said. “Hanover County [ED: and Henrico County] schools will be closed that day for the race. So grab the kids and head to the park to witness history.”
The fan zone will also be extended outside the front gates where there will be food trucks, several vendors, and the VCU Peppas will perform.
The hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Men’s Elite race begins at 1 p.m. and runs until 3:35 p.m. Parking is free.
