Man threatens clerk at Hopewell bank, runs away without money

HOPEWELL, Va. – Police are searching for the man who attempted to rob a Wells Fargo bank on Tuesday.

Police said that on Sept. 8 at 10:45 a.m., a man entered the Wells Fargo bank at 425 S. 15th Ave. in Hopewell and demanded money from the teller.

He did not display a weapon but stated that he would shoot the teller.

Before the bank teller handed over any cash, the offender ran out of the bank.

No employees or customers were injured.

Police described the offender as a white male, about six feet tall, with a slender build. He was wearing a checkered button-down shirt, a camouflage hat, and sunglasses.

Any person(s) who may have information on this robbery attempt are urged to contact the Hopewell/Prince George Crime Solvers at 541-2202.
