RICHMOND, Va. — The all-new WTVR CBS 6 News App is chock-full of new features and ready for you to download on your smartphone or tablet. Once you have the app installed, enter our $1,000 viewer APP-reciation Day contest.

Customizable alerts.

The app gives you the latest breaking news, severe weather alerts and unique local stories you can only find on WTVR.com and CBS 6 News. The app also features the CBS 6 Weather Authority’s most accurate forecast and the interactive radar to track storms right down to your street. The traffic button also displays the latest accident alerts and updates on road construction. You can also watch all of our CBS 6 newscasts at the swipe of a finger.

Some of the app’s awesome new features include the option to save stories to read later. Also, you can pick the “Near Me” feature to view the latest stories close to your home or current location.

Once you’ve downloaded the app, be sure to pick which alerts you would like to receive for breaking news, weather, traffic and promotional and contest alerts. Plus, you can share photos of breaking news or weather with WTVR.com right from your phone.
