CHESTERFIELD, Va. – There were over a 100 power outages in a Chesterfield neighborhood after a box truck came in contact with power lines off Goolsby Avenue around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

A box truck travelling down Goolsby Avenue connected with power lines, which pulled the transformer off the pole, and the transformer fell on top of the truck, according to authorities. It burned a hole in the top of the truck, and the transformer then fell into the cargo area of the box truck.

Hazmat was called on scene. Officials determined that the leak was hydraulic fluid leaking from the transformer.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

The Dominion Outage page shows 136 outages in Chesterfield as of 2:39 p.m. Tuesday.

The road is closed down in both directions for fire crews to clear the scene
