The Atlantic tropical season thus far has been fairly calm, with only three named storms thus far.   However, a new disturbance is the far eastern Atlantic shows some sign of potential development over the next week.  This zone of the Atlantic is an area that grows more active August and September.

A spaghetti plot of computer models indicates that if the system does develop further and hold together, it could be near the Leeward Islands around next weekend.

If this does occur, it may become Tropical Depression Four and eventually Tropical Storm Danny.  A lot can happen to cause this disturbance to dissipate before ever becoming a depression or storm.

We will continue to monitor this system this week.  You can keep tabs on all things tropical in the CBS 6 Hurricane Tracker, which is available on our website and the CBS 6 Weather Authority App.
