FERGUSON, Mo. — The Pentagon has ordered Ferguson police to give up two Humvees they received from the controversial military surplus program,according to KMOV.
The program, which involves the pentagon donating surplus military equipment to local police departments, came under fire after the police response to the unrest in Ferguson. Ferguson officials claim the two Humvees being returned were not used in the response.
The Pentagon said the returned Humvees were extra equipment not on the books. Department of Defense records show Ferguson police have two other Humvees.
