Henrico man arrested for impersonating a police officer

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Henrico police have arrested a man for impersonating a police officer.

On August 9, 2015, Henrico Police responded to the 2900 block of Layne Court for a suspicious situation.  The victim reported that William Edward Chenault, 52, came to her residence stating he was looking into a suspicious situation.

The victim stated that Chenault was armed and identified himself as a federal agent.

According to court documents, both Chenault and the victim live in the 2900 block of Layne Ct.

Chenault has been charged with impersonating law enforcement officer, which is a misdemeanor. CBS 6 legal analyst Todd stone told CBS 6 Chenault could get up to 12 months in jail and a $2,500 fine.

Chenault’s next court appearance will be October 20.
